— The problem

A group chat, a spreadsheet, and the coach's memory.

That is where a youth team lives today. Sunday's call-up gets buried in the chat. Nobody knows who is available. The line-up is rebuilt from memory before every match. And nobody measures how much each child actually plays, until the day a family notices it before the coach does.

Kickalys is written by a working coach, in the evenings, between two call-ups. Every screen served a Saturday morning before it landed here.

— Who does what

Two roles, one space.

The club holds its age groups, each coach runs their own and reads only that one. Nobody can write in someone else's place.

01 · Coaching staff

Enter, pick, publish.

  • Set the training slots for the whole season
  • Call up, pick the line-up, publish before the match
  • Fill in the match sheet pitchside
  • Enter scores, follow standings and bans
  • Import a squad from a spreadsheet or a photo of a licence sheet
02 · Families

Read, and report.

  • See their child's sessions, call-ups and results
  • Report an absence, the only write a parent can make
  • No password to remember, a code sent by email
  • No app to install, no account to create elsewhere
— The app

What a coach opens on Thursday night.

◷

Sessions and attendance.

Slots are set once, "Tuesdays, 6pm, on the artificial pitch", and the season fills itself, school holidays for the club's region included. A session moves or is cancelled, one at a time or in bulk, with a message ready to paste into the group chat. Each parent says whether their child will be there: no answer counts as expected, four reasons for an absence and never free text. The coach reads "35 expected · 3 away" instead of a thread of messages.

▦

The calendar, fixture by fixture.

The opponent, the venue, the meeting time, the travel time, the ground and its address. A postponed match moves without losing its history.

⬠

Line-up and match sheet.

The squad called up, then the starters placed on a pitch, the substitutes, the numbers, the captain. Three formats derived from the age group (five-a-side from U6 to U9, eight-a-side at U11 and U13, eleven-a-side from U15) and nineteen formations, of which the screen only offers those of the format at hand. Then the score, the scorers, the cards, the substitutions, the minutes played. Printable as it stands.

▲

Standings, scorers, bans.

Built from the scores you enter, never copied from elsewhere. At district level, the seeding matches decide the division and the league then restarts with a new group: the two phases are counted separately, the way they are played. Three yellow cards or a red are worth a one-match ban, served automatically.

◇

The squad and playing time.

The players, their age group, when they are unavailable. Every child's playing time is worked out across the season, enough to see who plays little before the family points it out.

↗

What leaves the app.

A call-up is passed on in one gesture, ready to paste into a conversation. The app also draws posters (the next match, the line-up, the calendar) and the calendar exports to the phone's own agenda.

— The choices

What is not obvious.

Six decisions that hold the product together, and what each one costs.

It works with no network
Installed on a phone, it keeps what it received at the last connection. The match sheet is filled pitchside where coverage is poor, and sends when the signal returns. Rural grounds exist, and Saturday does not wait.
Data isolated by club
Each club can access only its own data. Access rules are enforced in the database and verified by automated checks.
No password for families
The club code, then a code sent by email. The answer is the same whether the address is known to the club or not, so nothing reveals who belongs to it.
The parent-child link is set, never guessed
The staff sets it, the parent confirms it. Until they have said "yes, that is my child", the link grants no rights.
The database refuses, not the screen
Fifteen starters or six transferred players do not go through. What a screen forbids, the database refuses too: a rule that only lives in the interface is not a rule.
Nothing is public, and nothing is measured
No player name ships with the site: everything comes from the database, after authentication, and on sign-out the device is wiped. The public page loads no third-party service and measures no audience: reading it leaves no trace.
— Pioneer Club programme

Your club’s experience matters from the start.

Kickalys grew out of a U15 coach’s sessions and matches in Haute-Savoie. The Pioneer Club programme helps the first partner clubs prepare their arrival with Yann: your age groups, your squad and the way you work. Access to your club’s space is confirmed with you.

Setting it up is not your job
Your age groups are set up with you and your squad is imported from a spreadsheet or a photo of a licence sheet. You open the app with your players already in it.
You talk to the person who writes the software
There is nobody in between: no first-line support, no ticket number. What your club is missing on a Saturday morning goes straight to him, and weighs on what gets written next.
Trying costs nothing
One age group stays free, with no cap on players, no time limit, no commitment and nothing to sign. A full season is enough to know. If it does not suit you, you leave with your data.
Your feedback shapes what comes next
A session that is hard to organise, a call-up to simplify, something the committee needs: your feedback goes directly to the developer. Priorities are discussed around how you use the software.

Your data belongs to your club. Data isolation is checked automatically, and the backup and restore procedure is documented and has been tested. To recover your data, contact Yann; the handover arrangements are clarified before your club’s space opens.

— Pricing

A flat rate per club, never per licensee.

The four tiers give exactly the same thing: there is no higher edition holding the one feature your club happens to need. Twenty more sign-ups in September change nothing in what the club pays. No commitment period, no automatic renewal, and the club leaves with its data.

One age group Free

No cap on players, no time limit, nothing to sign. Enough to run one age group for a full season, and decide afterwards.

80 to 149 licensees €240 / season

The same product, flat rate. About a dozen footballs.

150 to 399 licensees €360 / season

The whole club, never counted per licensee.

400 licensees and up €520 / season

The top tier, and there is nothing above it.

Five modules are planned: registration, tournaments, the club shop, pitch booking and volunteers. Prices will be announced before subscribing, once the modules are available. If membership fees are collected through Kickalys, payment provider fees will be specified before the service opens and passed on without a markup.

— Questions

Answers to reasonable questions.

What does it cost my club?

A flat rate per club and per season, never per licensee: twenty more sign-ups in September change nothing in what the club pays. One age group stays free, with no cap on players and no time limit. For the whole club: €180 a season under 80 licensees, €240 from 80 to 149, €360 from 150 to 399, €520 from 400. The four tiers give exactly the same thing. No commitment, no automatic renewal.

Do parents have to create a password?

No. A family enters its club code, then a code received by email. The answer shown is the same whether the address is known to the club or not, so nothing reveals who belongs to the club. The link between a parent and a child is set by the staff and confirmed by the parent: until they confirm, that link grants no rights.

Where is my club's data?

Data is isolated by club, with permissions enforced in the database. A club cannot read another club’s data. No player name ships with the site, everything comes from the database after authentication, and on sign-out the device is wiped. European hosting.

What if the club wants to stop?

It stops. No commitment period, no automatic renewal, and the club leaves with its data. One age group stays free with no time limit: a club can run a full season before signing anything.

Is there an app to install?

No, nothing to install from an app store. Kickalys opens in the browser, on a phone as well as on a computer. A match sheet can be filled pitchside with no signal and syncs when it comes back.

How do we join the Pioneer Club programme?

The Pioneer Club programme prepares the arrival of the first partner clubs. Kickalys was designed around the daily work of a U15 coach; access for your club is confirmed after a conversation about your needs. Setup is guided, and one age group stays free with no time limit.
